I am Andrew Carrie, an independent transportation specialist based in West Lothian, near Edinburgh. I have been involved in the relationships between transport and land use for a long time, and my objective in setting up my own practice in 2009 was to "return to basics" and provide a more direct advice service to my clients, bringing to bear the experience I have built up, not only in technical analysis...

I firmly believe that good communication skills are essential, whether in writing reports, in negotiating with peers, or in presentations and consultations with the public and other non-technical parties. These skills are often sadly lacking among technical specialists. I have always attempted to cut through the "jargon" and am (apparently) well-known for my ability to understand complex technical problems and present them in non-technical language.
